Pre-Season Soccer: Strake Jesuit, Lamar Mustangs, and Cy-Falls on Top

Strake Jesuit Dominates Sharpstown High in a 4-0 Victory

Strake Jesuit came out firing at Clay Stadium, taking full control of the match early and heading into halftime with a commanding 3-0 lead. The scoring began when #10 Kendrick Machado converted an indirect free kick into a brilliant opening goal. Moments later, #9 Paolo LaMatta doubled the lead with a composed finish inside the box. Before the whistle blew for halftime, Machado struck again, netting his second goal of the match and putting Sharpstown High on the back foot. Strake Jesuit's precise passing and relentless pressure left Sharpstown struggling to keep up.

In the second half, the intensity continued as Strake Jesuit maintained their dominance on both ends of the pitch. #8 Mateo Valcarcel added the final goal, sealing a 4-0 victory in style. The defense remained rock-solid throughout the game, denying Sharpstown any chance of a comeback and preserving the clean sheet. This impressive performance not only highlighted Strake Jesuit's firepower but also demonstrated their ability to control games from start to finish, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead.

Lamar Mustangs Beat Bellville Brahmas Despite First-Half Red Card

The Lamar Mustangs delivered an impressive 4-1 victory over the Bellville Brahmas at Taylor Stadium, fueled by a stellar performance from Jaime Reyes and Sebastian Samora. Reyes set the tone early, scoring two goals in the first half with clinical precision to give the Mustangs a commanding lead. The third goal came from Sebastian Samora, who struck a stunning long-range effort that left the Brahmas’ goalkeeper with no chance. Shortly after Samora’s goal, the Mustangs were dealt a blow with a red card, forcing them to play the rest of the match with ten players. Despite the disadvantage, they entered halftime with a 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Bellville managed to score, briefly narrowing the deficit and reigniting their hopes of a comeback. However, Jaime Reyes extinguished those hopes by completing his outstanding performance with a fourth goal for Lamar, sealing the win. Even with a man down, the Mustangs showcased exceptional teamwork and determination, demonstrating why they’re a team to watch this season.

Cy-Falls Leads Langham Creek in a Heated Match Before H-Town Pulse Departure

Cy-Falls held a 2-0 lead over Langham Creek at Cy-Falls Stadium when H-Town Pulse departed with 10 minutes left on the clock. The match began with Cy-Falls capitalizing on two well-taken free kicks in the first half, securing an early advantage. Despite Langham Creek’s efforts to regain control, their momentum was disrupted when #6 received a red card, leaving the team shorthanded.

Langham Creek, however, didn’t back down and appeared to dominate possession in the closing stages, creating opportunities but failing to convert them into goals. Their inability to finish chances kept Cy-Falls in a commanding position. While the final outcome remains unconfirmed, the disciplined defense and clinical set-piece execution from Cy-Falls were the highlights of this hard-fought encounter.
