Club Deportivo Apollos Announce Open Tryouts for Unity and Volt League Teams
Club Deportivo Apollos will host open tryouts on Sunday, August 23, at 5:00 p.m. at Crossbar Academy as the Houston club begins building its rosters for the upcoming Unity Indoor and Volt League seasons.
The tryout will serve as one combined evaluation for two Apollos teams: the club’s Unity Indoor 5v5 team and its Volt League 2 11v11 team. Players can register for either team or express interest in both.
The exact Crossbar Academy field and address will be determined by registration numbers. All registered players will receive the confirmed indoor or outdoor field location and arrival instructions before tryouts.
Two Competitive Opportunities
The Unity Indoor team will compete in an eight-game 5v5 season beginning September 21. The fast-paced indoor format will give players an opportunity to compete in a smaller-sided environment that emphasizes quick decisions, technical ability and creativity.
Apollos will also enter an 11v11 team in Volt League 2 for the 2026–27 season. Volt League’s official fixture calendar is still pending, but the season is currently expected to begin around mid-October.
Players attending tryouts will be evaluated on technical ability, fitness, positioning, decision-making, communication and how well they fit within the club’s playing identity.
Player Fees
Players should review the financial commitment before registering.
The Unity Indoor fee is $150 per selected player. That fee includes league registration, the player uniform and the team’s referee fees for the eight-game season.
The Volt League 2 fee is $215 per selected player and includes league registration and the official Volt uniform. Volt players must also maintain the required league-app membership, which costs $4.50 per month. Match referee fees are separate from the $215 registration and uniform fee.
Completing the tryout form does not guarantee a roster position. Payment will only be required after a player is selected and accepts a position with the club.

Club Deportivo Apollos is co-owned by H-Town Pulse, bringing professional sports-media experience directly into the club’s identity.
H-Town Pulse will support Apollos through professional photography, video coverage, social-media content and player-focused storytelling throughout the season. Portions of the tryout may also be photographed or recorded as the club begins documenting its launch.
The goal is to provide players with more than a place to compete. Apollos is building an environment where performance, development, exposure and professional presentation work together.
