Dynamo Secure Crucial 2-1 Victory Over LA Galaxy

As the end of the regular season comes to an end and the Dynamo’s face a tough opponent LA Galaxy who is 1 st place in the western conference in a sold-out game a good opportunity to prepare them for the postgame. This game is special as the Dynamo’s show their appreciation to the fans for all their love & support over the season.

The Dynamo need the win in order to maintain a good spot for the playoffs, the atmosphere was electrifying as everyone has big hopes for the Dynamos.

In the starting Lineups Ben Olsen puts to the field are for Goalkeeper: Steve

Clark, Defenders: Daniel Steres, Griffin Dorsey, Erik Sviatchenko, and Micael Dos

Santos, Midfielders: Artur, Amine Bassi, Hector Herrera (C), Ibrahim Aliyu, and

Coco Carrasquilla, Attacker: Ezequiel Ponce. With this lineups Ben Olsen wanted

to prove that they are ready for this years Playoffs.

As the referee sounded his whistle LA Galaxy started to roll the ball. The first 5 minutes both teams are coming in hot with the Dynamo and the LA Galaxy being aggressive towards each other. On the 15 th minute Carrasquilla shot the ball it ended up hitting the goal post almost making the first. In a tight first minute the Houston Dynamo taking the initiative but then the LA Galaxy had a one-on-one opportunity but Clark made the save forcing a corner kick. 30 minutes passed and the game was still 0-0 both teams have made a good first half, but the Dynamo have created more opportunities but hasn’t been able to capitalize. In the 37th minute Carrasquilla again made the shot, but the McCarthy denied it. On the 44 th minute Ezequiel Ponce made the first goal of the game putting the Dynamo’s 1-0. An addition of 2 minutes were added to the first half. As the Referee gave the whistle the first half ended 1-0 advantage for the Dynamos both teams having a total of 8 shots each an impressive first half.

For the 2 nd Houston Dynamos made a substitution for Hector Herrera, to the

field came Brooklyn Raines. LA Galaxy would come strong in the 48 th minute with

a goal scored by Joseph Paintsil tying it 1-1. But the referee would check the VAR

for a possible foul after reviewing the play the referee reverted it’s due to a foul. At

the 54 th minute a yellow card was given to Joseph Paintsil. On the 62nd minute LA

again with the chance but was denied by the defense as it hits Novak Micovic with

an open goal forcing a corner kick.

With just 20 minutes to go the Dynamos showing an impressive performance in both defensive and offensive same as LA. The atmosphere of the fans was outstanding showing their love for the Dynamos and booing their rival especially Joseph Paintsil who’s been making fans angry constantly. In the 80 th minute only ten minutes left for the match LA had again a chance to score as Dejan Joveljic would shoot the ball but Clark holding onto it. 5 minutes left its all or nothing for both teams LA pressured to score a goal and the Dynamos holding on to the scoring but looking to ends this with maybe another goal to shut down LA. As the 90 th minute came to an end with both teams shooting with Houston 16 shots and LA 15 shots an additional 7 minutes are added bringing more suspense to the game. On the 95 th minutes a doubtful penalty is awarded to LA Galaxy giving them a chance to tie the game. Gabriel Pec is the one taking the Penalty Scoring the equalizer at the 96 th minute 1-1. In a last second attempt the Dynamo scored a goal by Daniel Stere with a header.

The Referee gives the final

whistle the game ending Houston taking the win 2-1. With this win the Dynamos

have sealed being in the 6 th spot and will play against Seattle Sounders in the best

of 3 series. In the post conference Ben Olsen quoted “we are not done yet”,

speaking how he would describe the season. The Dynamos are looking strong to

face the playoffs on what promises to be an intense game against Seattle on

October 26 th .
