HFA Premier Enters Final Stretch as Aurora FC Leads the Table
The HFA Premier season is entering its final stretch, and with no playoff format in place, every point matters even more. In HFA, the team that finishes 1st place in the standings wins the league, which means the race at the top will be decided by consistency over the remaining matches.
As of April 14, Aurora FC sits in 1st place with 35 points and an unbeaten 11-2-0 record. They have separated themselves as the top team in the division so far, scoring 51 goals, conceding just 12, and holding a league-best +39 goal difference. With the season winding down, Aurora remains in control of its own path to finishing first.
Behind them, Houston Rangers sit in 2nd place with 29 points through 14 matches. Rangers are still in the mix, but the gap between them and Aurora leaves little room for dropped points the rest of the way. ASC New Stars is currently 3rd with 23 points in 11 matches, giving them an important advantage in matches still to be played. Houston United is also on 23 points in 4th, while Titans FC rounds out the top five with 21 points.
That sets up an important closing stretch across the table.
Aurora FC continues to look like the standard in HFA Premier after another win over Amaanah Lions A, keeping their unbeaten run alive and strengthening their hold on first place. Every match now becomes a step closer to the title, and with no postseason waiting at the end, the job is simple: stay on top.
Houston Rangers remains the closest challenger in the table, but recent results have made the gap harder to close. Their loss to Titans FC gave Titans a major boost while also making the chase for first a little tighter behind Aurora. For Titans, that result helped push them to 21 points and kept them relevant heading into a demanding final run.
Houston United also made one of the biggest statements of the weekend with a 6-1 win over Siffredi’s FC. That performance moved them to 23 points, matching ASC New Stars in the standings total, and gave them momentum at the right time. Even if first place remains a difficult climb, Houston United has put itself in a stronger position as the season continues.
The remaining schedule now becomes the biggest storyline in the league.
On Saturday, April 18, ASC New Stars faces Strikers 1836 FC in a match that could help New Stars continue building pressure near the top. Then on Sunday, April 19, Titans FC takes on Fury FC, while Houston Rangers vs Houston United stands out as one of the biggest remaining fixtures on the schedule. That Rangers-United matchup could heavily affect the race near the top of the table.
Another major date arrives on Saturday, April 25, when ASC New Stars meets Fury FC and Titans FC faces Aurora FC. For Aurora, that Titans matchup could be one of the most important tests left in the season. For Titans, it is another chance to play spoiler and continue climbing.
On Sunday, April 26, Siffredi’s FC will meet Houston Rangers, while Houston United takes on Strikers 1836 FC. Then on May 2, Amaanah Lions A will face ASC New Stars before a loaded May 9 slate closes out much of the posted schedule. That day includes Titans FC vs ASC New Stars, Houston United vs Fury FC, Amaanah Lions A vs Strikers 1836 FC, and Siffredi’s FC vs Aurora FC.
A few fixtures on the remaining slate are currently listed as canceled, including Siffredi’s FC vs Real Guadalupe, Amaanah Lions A vs Real Guadalupe, and Houston United vs Real Guadalupe.
At this point in the season, the picture is clear: Aurora FC is in first, and everyone else is chasing. Since HFA Premier does not use a playoff system, the league winner will simply be the team that ends the season on top of the standings. That makes every result from here on out feel even bigger.
Aurora controls first place today, but with key matches still left for Houston Rangers, ASC New Stars, Houston United, and Titans FC, the race to finish on top is not over yet.
