HFA Week 2 Recap: Dominant Wins, Tight Battles, and a Forfeit Shake Up the Standings
Week 2 of the HFA Spring Season delivered excitement across the board, with Fury 1995 showcasing their firepower, Titans FC edging out Strikers 1836 in a thriller, and Houston Rangers securing three points through a forfeit. Here’s how the action unfolded:
Fury 1995 Overpowers Real Guadalupe with a 4-1 Victory
After a hard-fought draw in Week 1, Fury 1995 came out strong and delivered a commanding 4-1 win over Real Guadalupe. Jurgen Gonzalez opened the scoring with an assist from Wes Valentine, and Brandon Davila doubled the lead shortly after. Chris Zuniga and Wes Valentine added goals to seal the dominant performance. Real Guadalupe managed to pull one back through a Gio Guzman penalty, but it wasn’t enough to stop Fury’s attacking surge.
Fury FC and Houston United Battle to a Stalemate
Defense reigned supreme in the matchup between Fury FC and Houston United, with neither side able to break the deadlock, resulting in a 0-0 draw. Both teams displayed strong organization at the back, limiting scoring opportunities and forcing a hard-fought point for each side.
Titans FC Edge Strikers 1836 in a 3-2 Thriller
In one of the most exciting matches of the weekend, Titans FC secured a 3-2 win over Strikers 1836 FC. Ayomide Salako led the charge for Titans, scoring twice and assisting another, while Pedelson Finda added a goal of his own. Strikers 1836 fought hard with goals from Luis Monterro and Salem Nasser, but they couldn’t complete the comeback. This win gives Titans a much-needed boost after a tough loss in Week 1.
Houston Rangers Claim Win After Houston 1836 FC Forfeits
The scheduled match between Houston Rangers and Houston 1836 FC never took place, as Houston 1836 FC was forced to forfeit, handing Rangers a 3-0 victory. While it wasn’t the way they wanted to earn the points, Rangers now sit in a strong position as they move forward in the season.
