Houston Dynamo 2-1 Over New England Revolution

In an intense battle at Shell Energy Stadium, Houston Dynamo FC won 2-1 over the New England Revolution in a nail-biting match that saw late drama and relentless action.

It was Houston Dynamo who struck first in the 50th minute, with Ezequiel Ponce finding the back of the net. His right-footed shot from outside the box flew into the bottom right corner, assisted by Adalberto Carrasquilla. However, New England responded quickly. Just three minutes later, Carles Gil converted a penalty after Artur’s foul in the box, leveling the score at 1-1.

Houston Dynamo regained the lead in the 68th minute. Erik Sviatchenko powered a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner following another assist from Carrasquilla, making it 2-1.

New England pressed hard in the final moments, but the Houston defense held strong. The Revolution’s Giacomo Vrioni and Dave Romney both missed late chances, and Alhassan Yusuf’s shot was saved in the 90th minute, preventing New England from finding an equalizer.

Tempers flared as stoppage time approached, with Ezequiel Ponce shown a yellow card for a foul in the 96th minute. Despite the late pressure, Houston Dynamo saw out the final moments to secure a vital victory. With seven minutes of added time, the Dynamo fans were on edge, but the final whistle confirmed their team’s hard-fought win.
