Houston Internacional, one of Volt 2 League's new teams, celebrated its inaugural signing day in style, led by team captain and co-founder Ivan, alongside co-captains Sean Smith and Raul Ramos. The event, hosted at EVS Motors, marked a milestone for the club as they prepare for the 2024/2025 season with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and a deep sense of gratitude.

Reflecting on the Journey

Ivan opened the event with an emotional speech, tracing the roots of Houston Internacional back to his high school days in Argentina. Joined by lifelong friends Sean and Raul, the trio’s bond has shaped the team’s foundation. Ivan’s words captured the team’s essence: "We always say that this team is a family, but the family extends to all of you—our supporters, friends, and family."

The signing day was as much about recognizing the team's growth as it was about appreciating the people who made it possible. Special thanks went to the picture crew, including Cambree from H-Town Pulse and Kimberlyn from Perfect3sports, for their continued support in capturing the team's journey. The spotlight also shone on team owner and sponsor Ted Nguyen, whose business acumen and passion have been instrumental in Houston Internacional’s success.

A Legacy of Leadership and Unity

The leadership team presented the team’s values through personal anecdotes, including Ivan’s playful rivalry with Sean, which has fueled their competitive spirits and strengthened their partnership. Ivan highlighted the trust and unity among players, saying, "Sometimes, when I’m overwhelmed, I lean on my co-captains, and they bring me back to life. This team isn’t just mine—it’s ours."

One by one, players were introduced with personal stories that highlighted their skills, personalities, and contributions to the team. From Panama’s Michael Leonard, a veteran leader on and off the field, to Venezuela’s Wilfri Brazon, a vocal and spirited MVP, each player brought unique qualities to Houston Internacional.

Ivan’s introductions struck a balance between humor and sincerity, showing the deep bonds within the team. Whether celebrating a player’s first goal, their quirky habits, or their commitment to the sport, Ivan's words exemplified the unity that defines Houston Internacional.

With their roster finalized and the team energized, Houston Internacional is ready to tackle the upcoming Volt 2 League season. Ivan’s closing words reflected the team’s aspirations: "We’re not just here to play—we’re here to win, to grow, and to represent our colors with pride. Thank you for being part of this journey."

The event concluded with a gift presentation for Ted Nguyen, a show of gratitude for his unwavering support. As Houston Internacional looks ahead to the season, their signing day stands as a testament to their shared vision and passion for the beautiful game.
