In a closely contested match, Houston Dynamo FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC drew 1-1. The Dynamo took an early lead in first-half stoppage time when Ezequiel Ponce converted a penalty, awarded after Amine Bassi was fouled in the box. Ponce slotted the ball into the high center of the goal to give Houston the advantage going into halftime.

The second half saw Vancouver pushing for an equalizer, and they found it in the 73rd minute through Brian White, who fired a right-footed shot from the center of the box after a cross from Fafá Picault.

Both teams had several chances throughout the match, with key contributions from Griffin Dorsey and Erik Sviatchenko for Houston, while Ryan Gauld and Mathías Laborda made notable efforts for Vancouver. Despite a late push by the Dynamo, including multiple corners, Vancouver's defense held firm.

Tensions ran high as Amine Bassi was booked in stoppage time for a foul, and the match concluded after five minutes of added time. Both sides will see this as a missed opportunity to secure all three points.
