Volt 1 – May 3rd Matchday Recap:
🔹 AC Juniors – OFF
AC Juniors took the weekend off from league play as they competed in the USSA National Championship. The squad made a deep run, reaching the final, but ultimately fell to the Houston Regals. Despite the loss, their performance on the national stage shows the strength and talent the Juniors bring to Volt 1 this season.
🔹 Little United 5-4 Dynasty FC
What a comeback! In a thriller for the ages, Little United overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat Dynasty FC 5-4. Dynasty seemed in full control, going up 3-0 by the 41st minute. But Little United found life just before halftime, scoring in the 45th +3 to enter the break down 3-1. The second half saw relentless pressure from Little United, who clawed their way back and ultimately snatched all three points. It's a statement win as Little United continues proving they're one of the league's most dangerous sides.
🔹 University of Houston 2-1 Longhorn FC
UofH struck first with a banger in the 20th minute, then doubled their lead just before halftime. Despite a late goal from Longhorn FC in the 80th minute, it wasn’t enough to undo the first-half damage. The win marks a gritty and crucial result for UofH, who continue to fight for every point in the standings.
🔹 Ghost Town Saints 2-2 Houston United
A tight, back-and-forth battle ended in a 2-2 draw between Ghost Town and Houston United. Both teams exchanged goals and momentum throughout, but neither could find the edge to claim victory. While the Saints continue their solid form, Houston United showed resilience and determination to earn the point.
🔹 MAFC 2-0 La Vinotinto HTX
MAFC delivered a clinical second-half performance to secure a 2-0 win over La Vinotinto HTX. After a scoreless first half, MAFC found their rhythm and struck twice to seal the deal. It’s a solid, disciplined win that boosts MAFC’s playoff hopes as the season winds down.
1. Ballers FC Win 3-2 with No Subs and Pure Heart
No subs. Two injured players couldn’t come off. But Ballers FC fought through adversity and beat Apostles 3-2.
Goals by Jon Paul (#9), Manny (#8), and Antho (#23) sealed the deal. True grit. 💪😭
2. Forfeit Frustration: FC Seinfeld Falls 0-3
FC Seinfeld forfeited their match against Houston International, handing them an automatic 3-0 win. Seinfeld’s playoff chances take a hit.
3. Deadlock Drama: Los Santos & Smithfit Tie 2-2
A hard-fought match ended even between Los Santos and Smithfit. The 2-2 draw keeps both teams in the mid-table mix.
4. Southend City Shocks MAFC 4-3
Southend City reminded everyone they’re no pushover—beating a favored MAFC side 4-3 in a thriller.
MAFC came in as the favorite, but Southend’s firepower proved too much.
