HFA Week 2: Key Matchups & Previews

The HFA Spring Season is heating up as teams head into Week 2 on Saturday, February 8th. After an action-packed opening weekend, teams will look to build momentum, bounce back from tough losses, or secure their first win. Here’s a look at what to expect from this week’s matchups.

Fury 1995 vs. Real Guadalupe (6:00 PM – CRSP #4)

Fury 1995 will be aiming for their first win after an intense 2-2 draw with Strikers 1836 FC last week. Chris Zuniga and Diego Fuentes found the net, showing Fury's attacking strength. However, defensive lapses cost them, and they'll need to tighten up against a Real Guadalupe side looking to recover from a 2-1 loss to Houston 1836 FC. David Bautista got on the scoresheet for Guadalupe, but they struggled to hold their lead. Expect a close battle between two teams eager to claim their first three points.

Houston 1836 FC vs. Houston Rangers (8:00 PM – CRSP #4)

Houston 1836 FC started their campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Real Guadalupe, thanks to two goals from Vic Nwankwo. Their resilience will be tested against Houston Rangers, who also secured a 2-1 win in Week 1. Arturo Alvarez was the star, scoring both goals for Rangers, proving he can be a difference-maker. With both teams coming off victories, this clash could have early-season implications on the standings.

Strikers 1836 FC vs. Titans FC (8:00 PM – CRSP #1 TURF)

After a thrilling 2-2 draw with Fury 1995, Strikers 1836 FC will look to break into the win column. The Monterro brothers, Luis and Antonio, showed their goal-scoring ability, but they'll need a stronger defensive effort against a Titans FC team desperate for a turnaround. Titans suffered a 4-0 loss to ASC in Week 1, struggling on both ends of the field. A loss here would put them in a tough spot early in the season, making this a must-win game.

Fury FC vs. Houston United (8:00 PM – CRSP #3, Saturday, February 15th)

Fury FC had a dominant 2-0 victory over Siffredis in Week 1, with Isaiah Longoria and Isaac Edilson leading the attack. They’ll enter this match with confidence, while Houston United will look to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat against Houston Rangers. United showed some attacking promise but will need a more disciplined defensive performance to avoid consecutive losses.
