College Baseball Takes Over Houston for a Big Weekend at Daikin Park

The Houston Astros Foundation College Classic unfolded at Daikin Park, delivering three days of tight battles, from February 27 - March 1. Houston brought together six Division I programs; Texas, Coastal Carolina, Ohio State, UTSA, Ole Miss, and Baylor; high-energy baseball games that had the crowd on its feet from start to finish.

The Classic opened with one of the most exciting games, UTSA vs. Ohio State. The Roadrunners fell behind quickly as the Buckeyes built a 2–0 lead, but UTSA refused to fade. A two‑RBI single in the sixth inning tied the game, and in the seventh, outfielder **Lane Haworth** launched a go‑ahead two‑run homer that sent the UTSA dugout into a frenzy. Ohio State mounted a late push with two runs in the ninth, but the Roadrunners’ bullpen held firm to secure a 6–5 win.
