HFA Week 4 Recap
Week 4 of the HFA Spring Season delivered an exciting mix of high-scoring games, tight defensive battles, and statement wins. ASC New Stars continued their dominant run, Real Guadalupe pulled off an upset against Titans FC, and Houston United put on a second-half clinic to claim victory. Here’s how the action unfolded:
Fury 1995 and Fury FC Battle to a Stalemate (1-1)
In a closely contested Fury Derby, neither team could claim bragging rights as Fury 1995 and Fury FC played to a 1-1 draw. Lake Hood put Fury 1995 ahead, finishing off an assist from Chris Zuniga, but Jayce Nunn found the equalizer for Fury FC off a setup from Isaac Edilson. Despite both sides pressing for a late winner, the defenses held firm, forcing them to share the points.
ASC New Stars Run Riot with a 6-0 Rout Over Houston 1836 FC
ASC New Stars put on an offensive clinic, dismantling Houston 1836 FC in a 6-0 thrashing. Felix Allison led the charge with two goals and two assists, while Salvador Lopez, Delano Foster, and Lukas Simon all found the back of the net. A costly own goal compounded Houston 1836’s struggles, as ASC New Stars continued their perfect start to the season with another dominant display.
Real Guadalupe Stuns Titans FC in a Gritty 2-1 Victory
In one of the biggest results of the week, Real Guadalupe took down Titans FC in a hard-fought 2-1 win. Alex Guerrero opened the scoring with an unassisted goal before Eduardo Rodriguez, assisted by Gabe Velazquez, doubled the lead. Alex Rodriguez gave Titans hope with a well-struck free kick, but Real Guadalupe’s defense held strong to secure a statement win.
Houston United’s Second-Half Surge Sinks Siffredi’s FC (4-2)
Houston United overcame an early deficit to earn a 4-2 comeback victory over Siffredi’s FC. Stefano Serpelloni and Gianmarco Melone had Siffredi’s FC up early, but Houston United responded in dominant fashion. Martin Gonzalesconverted a penalty before adding another goal assisted by Xavi Vasquez. Ben Brandt and Josue De Paz also got on the scoresheet, sealing an impressive win for United.
Houston Rangers Shut Down Strikers 1836 FC in a 2-0 Win
Houston Rangers showed defensive discipline and attacking efficiency in a 2-0 victory over Strikers 1836 FC. Jordan Simon was the difference-maker, scoring twice—first off an assist from JC Guzman, then finishing a pass from Matthew King. Strikers 1836 struggled to break through a compact Rangers defense, who kept a clean sheet and walked away with all three points.
