Baja Bolts 4-2 Asturias FC

Group B

The Bolts made a strong Group B debut with a 4-2 win over Asturias FC. They controlled much of the first half, going into the break up 2-1. Asturias pushed back in the second half, but Baja’s front line delivered again with two more to close out the match.

Houston FC 3-2 University of Houston

Group A

In a fiery Group A matchup, Houston FC pulled out a 3-2 win against U of H, who were missing midfield anchor Aaron Peña and winger Juan Maya for a second straight game.

Houston FC opened with a 17th-minute goal by #7, but U of H responded with quick strikes from #15 (20’) and #45 (25’). Just before halftime, Houston FC equalized with a goal from #5. The game-winner came early in the second half via #9, who punished a defensive lapse in the 48th minute.

In a back-and-forth battle that went down to the wire, Crossbar Elite FC edged out Real Houston FC 5-4 in a Group A thriller filled with goals, momentum swings, and high emotion.

Crossbar took a 3-1 lead into halftime, controlling much of the early tempo. Real Houston fought back in the second half, closing the gap with sharp counters and set pieces, but Crossbar answered every blow — including the game-winner in the closing minutes.

🔥 Match Notes:

  • Crossbar’s attack was relentless, spreading goals across the front line

  • Real Houston nearly stole a point late, but couldn’t find the fifth

Ballers HFA 4-3 Real Guadalupe

Group B

Down 3-0 with seconds left in the first half, Ballers HFA delivered one of the greatest comebacks of the tournament, scoring four unanswered to win 4-3.

Real Guadalupe came out blazing, with #9 Patrick Toh scoring in the 17’ and 60’, and #5 scoring in the 35’. But #21 Jordi Garcia gave Ballers a lifeline with a goal in the 45th minute.

From there, it was the Nicolas Villarreal show — he netted a brace in the 82nd and 85th minutes, tying the match 3-3. Then, in 90+2’, Matthew Baron completed the miracle with a composed finish to steal the win.
