HOUSTON — Alternative rock fans will soon have the chance to relive some of the genre's most recognizable songs as The Fray makes its way to Houston on the band's "Summer of Light" Tour. The group is scheduled to perform at 713 Music Hall, marking another stop in its return to touring after several years away from the spotlight.

Formed in Denver, Colorado, in 2002, The Fray became one of the defining bands of the 2000s with emotional lyrics, piano-driven melodies, and songs that connected with listeners around the world. Their debut album, How to Save a Life, launched the band into mainstream success, producing hit singles such as "How to Save a Life," "Look After You," and later "You Found Me." Many of those songs remain staples on streaming platforms and continue to resonate with longtime fans.

Today, the band consists of Joe King, who now serves as lead vocalist and guitarist, alongside longtime members Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki. Following the departure of original lead singer Isaac Slade, King stepped into the frontman role, leading the band's newest chapter while preserving the sound that first introduced The Fray to audiences more than two decades ago.

The "Summer of Light" Tour celebrates both the band's legacy and its future, blending fan favorites with newer music that reflects its continued evolution.
